Gain The Edge with KAL
In today’s competitive marketplace, contract manufacturers with the agility to identify and eliminate the roadblocks standing between the part, product or assembly design and its final destination are invaluable. OEMs that partner with KAL Manufacturing gain access to complementary processes, capabilities, and experience to help them create the best route to success.
Early Supplier Involvement (ESI)
Finding Design and Manufacturing Efficiencies Upfront
Before awarding your program to a contract manufacturer, you want to know if they share your values and commitment to quality, and if they can add value to your program. Through Early Supplier Involvement (ESI), KAL Manufacturing demonstrates exactly how our expertise, processes, and capabilities will:
Complement and enhance your internal capabilities,
Review for cost saving strategies
Advance your program to the next level of quality, and
Deliver your part, product, and assembly to market on target, every time.
KAL offers ESI to support OEM engineering requirements in the alpha, beta, and prototype builds. We review drawings upfront for manufacturability and prior to initial production release to identify and correct potential problem areas. By enhancing the development and innovation process, we help customers build a quality program with the best concept-to-customer cycle time and lowest costs possible. ESI also helps ensure that we maintain our performance, quality, and delivery throughout the life of the program.
Keeping Everything on Track
After the initial stages of account development, KAL Manufacturing assigns a program manager to be the single point of contact for the customer during the program life cycle. This person has ownership of the program on a daily basis and is responsible for its overall supervision.
From design to delivery, program management takes on many forms including the:
Efficient turnaround of all customer quotes, order confirmations, and related issues
Seamless integration of engineering change requests and related requirements
Continuous documentation of process improvements for program optimization with direct feedback to customers
Monitor and report the status of a part or assembly in real time
